The Royal Cape Ratings Division otherwise known as the RRD have published an official RATINGS DATABASE where all CLUB RATINGS will be administered. This database is public and relies on the boat owner to update their boats details. In order to update your boat details you need to please request your user name and password by emailing the rrd will issue you with an e-management user name and password. Once you have updated your boat details the RRD will be informed via email automatically.
HOW TO GET A CLUB TCF
- Download an official Ratings Form from the ratings website or request a copy from RCYC reception
- Duly complete all requested data on the form and submit it to the RCYC Sailing Office or email the form to rrd@rcyc.co.za
Or logon to the RRD database via the RCYC website under RCYC ratings. Once on the RRD database click on boat edit and amend your boat details. The RRD will be notified of the changes made automatically.
- Processing of rating will take between 2 – 5 days
- Once your boats rating has been computed you will be notified via email.

- Duly complete all requested data on the form and submit it to the RCYC Sailing Office or email the form to rrd@rcyc.co.za

- Processing of rating will take between 2 – 5 days
- No re-rating applications will be accepted (for competing boats) within 5 days of a regatta

GENERAL GUIDELINES ON CLUB TCF RATINGS
IF YOUR BOAT HAS A VALID IRC CERTIFICATE
Your boat measurements will be taken from your valid IRC certificate, CLUB TCF will be based on this data. No other allowances will be given until the current IRC certificate expires
WHEN RATED WITH A No 2 or 3 HEADSAIL
If rated with No 2 headsail an allowance of 0.5 % will be given from largest headsail
If rated with No 3 headsail an allowance of 1 % will be given from largest headsail
HOW OFTEN CAN I APPLY FOR A RE-RATE
Once every 12 months, exceptions can be made if a signifficant change has been made however this will be at the discretion of the RRD.
PROVISIONAL RATINGS
A Boat will be marked with “PR” when it has received a provisional rating. This would mean that the RRD has not received sufficient information. Provisional ratings are subject to final ratification by the RRD.
The RRD reserves the right to amend ratings and rating structures if and when it deems necessary.
