Pacer 3 is a one design sports-boat (Pacer 27 Sport) built by Pacer Yachts and designed by Simonis-Voogd. Build year is 2007. The boat is being campaigned by the entire crew from the succesfull J27 'Smackwater Jack'. Although the IRC rating is high and the boat is very fast off the wind, it is not ideally suited to windward/leeward racing.The boat is likely to do better on the longer distance races.The SWJ team are entering all the IRC events to gain experience on this design and plan on participating in the Pacer 27 nationals. A further goal is to demonstrate the fun aspect of the design and to prove it is robust enough for the Cape weather.
